Day X / Westerngrund
Excerpt from text by marie Gamillscheg
in the morning, first we search for our own centres: the first gentle clicking of the tongue, the tension in the back, tracing the remnants of sleep in the body. we reach for the belly, trying to understand these movements.
we straighten up and align ourselves towards north, east, south, west: we cut the shape of the european union from a piece of cardboard and suspend it from a thread, we attach it in westerngrund. we acquire a small hook (preferably steel, alternatively brass or copper), and put it up somewhere. we cut out the shape, search for some thread, yes we search for some thread and attach it today in westerngrund. we acquire a small hook (steel), and put it up. it is still possible to put up a steel hook and suspend the european union from it in westerngrund. it is still possible to reenact equilibria, to feel for centres. we want to feel for centres.
westerngrund: bavaria, lower francony, rural district aschaffenburg, municipality schöllkrippen, area 8.95 square kilometres, population of what once were three separate villages: huckelheim - 872, oberwestern - 787, unterwestern - 386.
